Design a New Evaluation or Edit an Existing Evaluation



1. Click "Evaluation Designer" from the Admin Menu

2. If designing an existing evaluation, search for it on the left-side menu

Or to begin building a new evaluation click "Add New"

3. Name the evaluation in "Evaluation Type" and use the dropdown on Employee Type (which can be customized in the Dropdown Edits menu)

4. Each evaluation has individual settings:

  • 'Enabled' is on by default, toggle this off if you'd like to make this evaluation unavailable
  • 'Employee has access' is off by default, turning it on gives employee access in their Employee Portal for use in self-evaluations
  • 'Hide overall rating' is off by default, turn it on to make ratings visible (this is not for uploaded PDF evaluations, but rather the native-built forms)

5. In the Evaluation, once the settings are confirmed, save, and click on "Design Evaluation"

6. 1. Upload an evaluation document that's already been created (pdf), and Helios will map all of the fields to turn it into an electronic evaluation.

  1. *This option may lead to print formatting issues if there are free-form text boxes that allow for too many characters
  2. Add fields manually to create a native Helios evaluation
    1. Standards and Ranks are work best in the manual/native evaluation type

7. For a Helios Built-in Form us the "Add Field", "Add Standard", "Add Ranks", buttons to design your evaluation. The Standards and Ranks are not available with the Upload Eval Document option.

8. Each Field Type is useful in certain situations., explore the options.

The text within Field Name is visible on the evaluation.

9. To edit (or duplicate) any of the existing fields within a built-in evaluation, right click on the field in the designer.

From the Field Properties menu, you can make any adjustments.

10. Click "Preview Evaluation" to see what it will look like to users.

11. Save your work. The evaluation is now available for use from the Evaluations Dashboard
